Yasgoor & Bressler says that through this course learners are able to apply global issues which include international law, culture, local management approaches, best practices and societal norms (2008). In the section of employee relations learners are able to understand the context of mixed culture regulations and employee obligations in the global perspective. Besides the above individuals studying this course indentify antitrust laws that must be considered in recruiting workforce for multinational companies and also understanding international contracts with employees (Albrecht, 2001). The principles of navigating in the business world in which good practices in one culture may be unethical are also learned from this global diversity course.

Rules of upholding ethical standards by addressing the underlying needs and expectations of the business environment are also studied n this course (Yasgoor & Bressler, 2008). The laws of complying with foreign regulations as they arise are also studies in the section dealing with issues in global and cultural diversity. One is also able to learn about the patterns global leadership competencies to understand the flexibility to work and manage people across cultures (Yasgoor & Bressler, 2008).

How have you applied the information from questions 1 and 2 on your job? Give specific examples.

Since I was working in a banking institution, I was able to come up with and develop, implement, administer and evaluate experts and foreign national compensation and benefit programs. This program was of great importance especially to foreign employees because of the need to understand their cultural backgrounds (Yasgoor & Bressler, 2008). Under the human resource department, I was also assigned the task of developing, selecting, implementing and evaluating flexible work arrangements and diversity programs for employees form different parts of the world.

In addition, context the course in global diversity prepared a level playing ground and work experience for me being an external consultant on the banks international partnership development besides being involved in change management of the bank. This was based on the fact that through the course I had credibility in of intercultural communication and workforce development.

How can you apply (or have you applied) this information in your personal life and other jobs? Give specific examples.

In my personal life information and knowledge gained from this course has played an integral role especially in my career development and interacting with people from different cultures and ethical settings. Considering that this was not my native country, the course helped me to fit in the job titles and responsibilities which I was accorded. As a result I was able to work without feeling being left out or being misunderstood. During this period I felt welcomed, and it provided me with the time and structure to establish relationship with other employees hence encouraging me to continuing to work for the bank.

In conclusion information gained from this course helped me to realize that I was working in a multicultural and global environment and therefore I was able to embrace cultural differences. On top of that I have been able to characterize conducts that are correlated with sensation factors while working in a global environment.
