Islamic architecture encompasses a wide range of both secular and religions style from the foundation of Islam to present day. Most of the building is influenced by Islamic element with variety of style in which are Persian style, Indo-Islamic style and Indonesian-Malay style.

A. The first style of Islamic culture that influences the architecture is Persian style. 1. Some of the decorations of the mosque are refer to Syrian style. a) From the mosque construction, Iranian plan refer to the structure of the building that consist of Iranian element while Syrian style refer to the decoration of the exterior and interior of the mosque. b) Seljuq architecture synthesized several of style between Iranian and Syrian until causing problem in determines whether it is more to Iranian or Syrian. 3. Another Islamic architecture trend to arise in the Seljuq era is the development of mosque including the Tomb Tower such as Gunbad-i-qabus that show Zoroastrian motif which belong to Syrian style.

4. Persian is one of beautiful country that has beautiful decoration, arts and designs. The decoration of Persian which includes Iranian style and Syrian style has made the country unique and attractive. B. The second style of Islamic culture that influenced architecture is Indo-Islamic style. 1. Indo-Islamic style consists of colourful tiles that covered the exterior and interior parts of the domes. a) The main colur of the domes is blue. According to Al-Hind (Andre Wink, n.d), the uses of blue colour would dominate the skyline at of the city. b) Reflecting with the light from the sun, these domes appeared like glittering turquoise gem and could be seen from miles away by travelers.

2. The famous example of Indo-Islamic architecture is Taj Mahal. a) Based on Mughal architecture style, Taj Mahal was created using Islamic element with complete symmetrical. b) Taj Mahal is built up using precious and semiprecious stone as in the inlay and the vast quantity of white marble. 3. Indo-Islamic style easily identify with the uses of colorful tiles to make the construction beautiful and easy on eyes. Some of the colour has connection with the nature that can make it looks naturally and attractive. For example, the uses blue colour that perfectly matches with the colour of the sky.

C. Last but not least, another style of Islamic culture that influenced architecture is Indonesian-Malay style. 1. Indonesian-Malay style prefers to use multi-tiered roof rather than multi-level pagodas. a) The uses of multi-tiered roof shows that Javanese has their own trademark and different from Chinese architecture which use multi-level pagodas. b) The decoration of the buildings is mostly referring to Islamic style.

2. The architecture of Javanese mosque had clearly influence on the design of other mosques in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and Philippines. 3. Nowadays, Indonesian mosque develops a more standard with international style. Most of the mosques are now build with complete element including domes, minarets, mihrab and decorative Islamic calligraphy instead of picture were forbidden in mosque architecture. 4. Indonesian-Malay style is one of the unique styles compared to other style. The use of multi-tiered roof has differentiated Indonesian-Malay from other styles that prefer to use domes. The unique of multi-tiered roof has made Javanese architecture easily recognize.
